Salad Turnips are Back + Cover Cropping for Winter

Getting Winter-Ready With Cover Crops

This past week we planted large sections of our fields with cover crops. Little sprouts are coming up all over as shown in the photo below. It feels good to check that off the list and turn our attention to bulk harvesting.

We have so much delicious produce still in the fields. If you haven’t signed up for the fall share starting November 1st, it’s time!

Salad turnips are back on the harvest list this week. They look beautiful and add a nice fresh crunch to any meal.

The winter rye is coming up nicely in our front field. They’ll grow a few inches before winter then explode in growth in April/May. It’s a sight to behold.
