Squash comes in, Potatoes come out.

Fingers crossed that heat waves are over for the season and we’re truly moving into fall weather. Harvesting winter squash when it’s 35 degrees out just doesn’t feel right. As Andre said, “it felt like the sun was set to broil.”

Despite the heat we managed to get over half the squash out of the field and the rest will come out early next week. We’re pleased with the harvest and the first squash will be in your shares September 20th.

In celebration of cooler weather we are digging the first of the norland potatoes on Monday. Norland potatoes are a red skinned, white flesh potato that make an amazing potato salad.

More than half the squash has been harvested and is curing in the shipping container
Our September farm tour was a huge hit. It’s always a pleasure to show people around the farm and share how we grow all of veggies.
